Municipal Corporation Of Delhi to use `rich experience' to solve problemsBy Riti, Section Development
Back from an eight-day trip of Germany and Italy, MCD's top brass claim the jaunt to be a ``rich experience.'' The delegation has emphasised that after studying models of civic amenities in European countries, they are now keen to replicate some of them in the Capital.
For instance, after visiting various multi-level parking sites, the delegation was particularly impressed with the usefulness of an underground parking project under a street in Munich, Germany. ``Given Delhi's expensive real estate, a parking facility that does not utilise land space would be a good option,'' the delegation claimed. According to the delegation, a presentation on tapping solar energy by a Munich-based company, Prexma, revealed some interesting possibilities for the city. In the presentation, it was pointed out that Germany is one of the largest producer and consumer of solar energy. Interestingly, the consulting company also revealed that India receive more solar days than Germany and hence the potential for using solar energy is much brighter. Click on Full Story for More.
