Enjoying the most advantageous location with Delhi, Faridabad is also well connected to Gurgaon and Noida. Several projects for Faridabad are in the pipeline like Badarpur Bridge, Delhi Metro and KMP Expressway. No doubt, with these projects Faridabad will definitely experience a makeover.

Faridabad is lucky enough to be the only town in Haryana included in the Urban Renewal Mission for the spatial development. As for now, development schemes catering to the demanding infrastructure needs for 91 urban sectors and 41 revenue villages will be taken into prime concern as the work at priority. As a suburb to Delhi, Faridabad has seen a stupendous growth. Faridabad City Development Plan will aim at optimizing breakthrough alternations in infrastructure and civic amenities, sewer system, street light, sanitation, storm water drains, roads, solid waste management, and water augmentation for a projected populace of 26 lakh by 2035.

R.C. Gupta, MD, RPS said, "The power and water supply is no doubt better than other NCRs. We are offering our customers with all basic amenities. To cope up with the water problem we have rain water harvesting system."

RPs Infrastructure Ltd has launched its Dream Project of Savana in Sec-88 at Faridabad on 2nd of Sept 2006. It is 50 acres group housing project having great features like Parks, water bodies, Lap pools, Swimming pool, club etc. The Construction of the project is in Full Swing.

Also, the government is focusing on upgrading living standards of slum dwellers, says an official from Faridabad Corporation. This industrial town holds the dubious distinction of being one of the five cities which has the maximum population of weaker sections, stay- ing in around 60 illegal colonies and slum clusters.

"Today Faridabad is a fully developed township. Enough amount water is available for the people of Faridabad. We are having over head tanks and always try to make ensure that there should be no crisis for water and power supply," said Madhur Mittal, MD, Triveni Infrastructure.

"Once Badarpur flyover will be through, the access will be more comfortable and also the plan of Metro reaching their by 2009 shall put property to boom." - Hemant Jain, Managing Director, KLJ Townplanners.

Faridabad is not far behind even in the education sector. Several professional institutes and schools have come up in recent time. D.C. Model School, Apeejay School, St. Columbus Convent School, Modern Public School and the list goes on. For the professional students who are seeking for professional studies are having many options like B.S. Anangpuria Institute of Technology and Managemenr, National Institute of Animal Welfare, YMCA Institute of Engineering, Rai Foundation of Engineering and National Power Training Institute.

Faridabad is about 25 kilometers from Delhi. It is bounded by National Capital on its north, Gurgaon on west and State of Uttar Pradesh on its east and south. Faridabad is situated on the National Highway-2 and thus it is well connected with its neighbouring states. Roadways services of Haryana and neighbouring states like Delhi Transport Corporation and Uttar Pradesh Transport department are easily accessible.

Faridabad fares well among other cities when it comes to connectivity. It is said that the new flyover over Badarpur crossing and an expressway linking Palwal, Manesar, Kundli, Faridabad, Noida and Ghaziabad will provide interconnectivity among various satellite towns.

"Once the so called bottle neck of Faridabad i.e. Badarpur flyover is ready to commute upon, same would result of the swift connectivity for the residents/occupants of various residential and commercial projects. In a way it will create resistance less move ability without any impedance", informs In derjeet Singh.

Delhi Metro Rail is likely to cover the city by 2010 as proposed by the Government of Delhi.

If officials are to be believed then the greening of the place is also being takes care of. "We have reserved a whole Sector 52 A in Gurgaon as the green area and we are also taking take care of the greening of Faridabad," says an HUDA official.

While several shopping malls are under construction, Faridabad is likely to have more than 40 such spots over the next few years. Jain shares "These changes can be seen in terms of floating of new sectors with a public and private sector partnership; setting up new institutional sectors; witnessing changes in the skyline by developing a new urban development policy, adding new high-tech electronic and communication units and IT Parks; and better road and transport facilities."

The area will come in prominence once the planned flyover at Badarpur border is complete. As the area will be decongested corporates will move towards Faridabad given the high rates at Jasola. CA Mahim Mittal, Group Managing Director, Shivkala Group, feels, "The real estate is transforming the skyline of Faridabad. It is affordable for the medium segment people. Unlike Noida and Greater Noida, one can get good return by investing in property here. Facility wise the place is good as metro is coming then there is a planned expressway and flyover. I would say facility wise Faridabad is at par with other NCR towns such as Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, but in affordability it scores more."
