The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Thursday recommended an amendment to Delhi Master Plan 2021(MPD-2021) to bring it in conformity with the February 26 notification, wherein the DDA had issued guidelines regarding mixed and commercial use charges.

As per the amendment, instead of two parking spaces per 100 sqm built up area within the premises as per the Master Plan, now one parking space per 50 sqm plot area would be required to be provided under MPD-2021. The decision was taken at a meeting of the DDA held at Raj Niwas.

Through a Gazette Notification dated February 26 (which was an amendment to an earlier notification dated November 20, 2006) the DDA had issued guidelines regarding mixed use and commercial use charges, comprising one time parking charges for such uses, to be levied by local bodies. As per this notification, one car space per 50 sq m of plot area had to be provided. After the notification in February, it was found that these regulations were not in conformity with the regulation proposed for the purpose in MPD-2021. Two options i.e. to either amend the Gazette Notification dated February 26 and bring it in conformity with the MPD-2021 provision or to amend the Plan itself were examined. ''It had been recommended to amend the Master Plan 2021 and thus the proposal for same was put up to the Authority which has been approved,'' a DDA release said.

Further the change of land use in respect of 1.70 hectare of land in Zone D from recreational to residential for the purpose of students and hospital staff quarters of Vardhman Medical College at Raj Nagar was also approved. This change of land use had been earlier approved and objections/suggestions had been invited. After incorporation of the objections and suggestions the proposal had again been put up to the Authority for approval. The Authority also approved change of land use of land measuring 7.8 acres from recreation to residential for CRRI campus.

Through a Gazette Notification dated February 26, 2007 (which was an amendment to an earlier notification dated 20.11.2006 DDA), DDA had issued guidelines regarding mixed use and commercial use charges, comprising one time parking charges for such uses, to be levied by the local bodies.
