First, the public should be sensitised to save power by rational use of electricity both at home and work place alike by proper maintenance of appliances, wiring, switches, plugging leakages and wastages, switch over to CFL bulbs, etc. Users of various electric appliances need to be educated through literature about the benefits both in terms of energy and monetary savings. If the consumers benefit monetarily by such appliances, they will definitely cultivate the habit of use of such appliances.
