Soon After signing the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the extension of Metro line to Gurgaon, the Haryana Government on Friday announced that it would also take Metro to its other NCR towns Faridabad, Bahadurgarh and Kundli.

Technical consultants RITES would table detailed project reports for the Faridabad and the Bahadurgarh extension in two months, said Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

"We also plan to extend the Metro link up to IMT Manesar in Gurgaon," added the chief minister. Financial Commissioner and Town and Country Planning Secretary, Shakuntala Jakhu, who signed the MoU on behalf of the Haryana government, said the state had agreed, in principal, to take Metro to Faridabad and Bahadurgarh. "We are waiting for the reports," she said. The Metro link from Okhla to Faridabad will be a 15-km corridor and the line from Mundka to Bahadurgarh will be 10 km long. The extension to Gurgaon would also be completed by July 2010.
